Welcome to A New Soul Song’s first official monthly newsletter!  This production company

was birthed due to my unwillingness to sit and feel helpless while witnessing all the chaos and

fear in our media. As a global society we are moving through some crazy times of rapid change

and needed transformation. Thinking more freely and exploring different options as to how we

can help build a better tomorrow is vital.  It is my desire to invite the children into the

conversation so that we can bridge what we as adults have learned through past experiences with

the child-like innocence of our young who still possess dreams and ideas filled with limitless

“You must lend an ear today, because we are the leaders of tomorrow”. That is a quote from

Adora Svitak, a 12 year old child prodigy who in 2010 gave a riveting TED talk titled “What

Adults Can Learn From Kids”. She goes on to say how the world NEEDS “childish” thinking:

bold ideas, wild creativity and optimism. Myself, who is someone who has been called on

several occasions, “Child-like”  can appreciate Adora Svitak’s view and as a “childish” adult, I

am committed to using the skills I have acquired throughout my adult life, to help give children a

voice. You can watch Adora’s full TED talk here.  I promise, It is worth taking the time to watch.

I had the pleasure to perform We Can Be Kind with Our Lady Of The Assumption School

Concert Choir in Bronx, New York for three separate concerts in December. This amazing choir

is directed by a dear friend of mine Dan Thaler. I met him while attending The Hartt School Of

Music, and we’ve been great friends ever since. Singing a David Friedman song about hope,

kindness and connection with a choir of children moved me so deeply. It reminded me of how

powerful music is and how we can use it as a force for positive change in the world.

Keep a lookout to the “We Can Be Kind” music video. It will be released sometime in February!

I can’t wait!
